4 dead and 1 wounded after a drug bust in Ohio.
The Columbus Dispatch reports the man was taken to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead.
Ohio State University police officers, who responded to a call about a suspicious man in a blue Nissan Altima, found the man dead in a wooded area on the university’s campus about 1:20 p.m.
State police Lt.
Brian McBride said the man died from multiple gunshot wound to the head and that he had a history of mental illness.
Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related.
According to a police report obtained by The Dispatch, officers found a loaded .40-caliber handgun on the passenger side of the car.
In a statement, the university said it has “no information to indicate the circumstances that led to this individual’s death or the individual’s relationship to any of our campus community members.”
Columbus Police Chief Ron Ness said the department will continue to investigate the incident.
“We will continue our efforts to identify this individual, his associates and anyone who may have witnessed or was present during the incident,” Ness said in a statement.
More to come.
